Bronx Bombers add another slugger

Brian Cashman has made another low-key move to help the New York Yankees offense improve. Cashman signed former Brewers slugger Chris Carter to a one year $3 million deal.

For the Yankees giving Carter a $3 million deal is like giving him a ham sandwich to play for a season. I think this is a great move by Cashman with tremendous upside. For Carter he gets what all good hitters want a chance to play for a big contract. Carter hit 41 homeruns last season which was tied for the NL lead. While Carter is a homerun machine he also racks up the strikeouts totaling 206 last season while hitting only .222.

Overall another solid move that can help out both parties while Chris Carter gets a cup of coffee in a Yankees uniform. The only real question is how is Joe Girardi going to get his bat in the lineup. He plays first base (Greg Bird), left field (Brett Gardner), and DH (Matt Holliday). I guess that is a problem for Girardi not Cashman. I give this move by Cash a grade of…
