Why It’s Time to Trade Blake Griffin

The Dunks. The Scandals. Hanging out with Rappers. Jumping over Cars.  Blake Griffin is Hollywood.  During his NBA career as a Clipper, he has averaged 21.5 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 4 apg. He has great chemistry with Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, and he has helped the Clippers reach the playoffs each of the last 5 seasons.  Things seem to be going pretty well.  Why trade this guy?

Lob City feels like it was decades ago.  Each season brings more playoff failure. Griffin is one of the most complete players in the league.  There is no doubt that Doc Rivers would receive a plethora of both talent and future picks for Griffin.

Trading Griffin would bring new, younger faces to LA, and the draft picks they would receive would help them build for the future. The past 5 years have shown that the Paul-Griffin-Jordan combination cannot win a championship, let alone get past the second round.  Doc Rivers talks constantly about his goal to win a ring, so if we know this roster can’t do it, why not change it?
